Looking Ahead For You

What You See:

Celestial candles on glass shelves line the tranquil colored walls. A half moon mirror hangs above them. Green palm trees fill stone vases in the shop's corners. A large stone bench, resembling the body of a resting lion, sits in the middle of the room. The lion' head rests on its large paws, its eyes lazily looking forward. Two lion statues stand at each side of white French doors - the entranceway to the consultation area. They act as guards, keeping negative energy out of the enclosed sanctified area.
What She Sees:Phillips is in the business of seeing and channeling spiritual energy, not reading minds. She uses tools like angel-themed tarot cards, crystals and palm lines to answer clients' questions - but the cards are read as they are laid out.
"Certain things, only God knows," she said. Typical questions include queries about careers, family and health. Each session offers unlimited questions. Phillips answers as many as she can. When doing psychic readings, she first guides clients to open their minds with relaxing breathing techniques, soothing scents and prayers. "To attempt a psychic reading on someone who is resistant is like trying to look through a brick wall," she said. "No one can do that."

What She Likes:

Phillips likes the energy of the space where she does readings. "I am at peace when I am here," she said. She also enjoys using her psychic gift to help others. "My psychic ability is a gift, just as some people's gifts are in art, music or building," said Phillips. "It is important to use your gifts as much as you can. It makes the world a better place."

What She Would Change:

Phillips, who remodeled the former barber shop before opening the business 3 years ago, wants the shop's atmosphere to be a calm one. She plans to continue with soothing earth tones and greenery that decorates the shop by adding more plants, herbs and a few more comfortable chairs for waiting customers.
